About Ann Dorn

Ann is a retired Sergeant from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and a Police Widow (Survivor). Her husband David, who was a retired Police Captain with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, and a retired Chief of Moline Acres Police Department, was murdered June 2, 2020, during the riots in St. Louis, MO.

Ann is an avid supporter of Law Enforcement and remains active in teaching Field Training Officers, Management and Officer Wellness, with IPTM (Institute for Police Technology and Management).

Ann has 28 years of law enforcement experience as a Police Officer, Detective and Sergeant. Her assignments included Street Patrol, Juvenile Division, Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit, Crime Suppression Unit, Academy Supervisor, Coordinator and Instructor, Field Training Manager, Administrative Aide, Homeless Outreach Supervisor and Officer Wellness and Crisis Intervention Unit Commander. During her service she received three Awards of Excellence and two Chief’s Letters of Commendation.

Ann was a member of the Major Case Squad and regularly worked with the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.

Ann remains an advocate for Officer Wellness, First Responders, Survivors, and their Families. She is active within her community, a passionate public speaker, and a Board member for TAUSA (Take Action USA). She also actively advocates with Concerned Communities for America and is an ambassador for “We Back Blue.”

Ann is currently the Executive Director for the Captain David Dorn Foundation, in honor of her late husband. The foundation supports First Responders and their families with unexpected expenses and mental wellness support. The foundation also supports underfunded agencies with much needed equipment and partnering with other agencies and businesses to do the same.
